I just received these and it doesn't say that it is "organic", unlike in the description of the product. Is all Newman's Own indeed organic? My second question is about the garlic powder as an ingredient : isn't garlic one of the food to definitely avoid for dogs?

These Treats are made with organic ingredients. Garlic is completely safe when used in small amounts and can help support the immune system, liver and cardiovascular system, prevent blood clots and reduces cholesterol/fat build up in the blood and heart. Also, it aides in the fight against bacterial, viral and fungal infections and increases rate of killing off parasites and is great for palatability.

Do these treats need to be refrigerated? What is their shelf life?

These treats do not need to be refrigerated. Although they have a shelf life of almost 9 months because of the natural preservation system, It is recommend that they be consumed within 30 days of opening the pouch.

Dog delicious

Newsman's beef jerky for dogs is nutritious and satisfying for your dogs. My golden retriever loves it so much although I give her one piece a day. She is nutty over it, she knows that one piece is a treat. I usually give it to her for good behavior. The only con is that it doesn't last very long. It is not a tough chewy jerky, but soft thin bite size jerky that your dog can easily eat.

Dry and "crumbly-texture; Shouldn't be called jerky

I've purchased both the Newman's Own Beef Jerky and the Newman's Own Beef and Sweet Potato Jerky for several years now. The jerky in this larger-sized "Value-size" package did not have the typical jerky consistency that was the norm in the smaller packages I've bought. Usually I have to use scissors to cut the large pieces into smaller ones; the treats in this order I could tear apart with my fingers. The treats in this Value-Size package were very light-weight, had a dry texture and even looked different from what I'd come to know as the norm. (Best by 06/2023, so not out of date). I don't know if the manufacturer has changed the ingredients or if the larger size package (or this particular package) was not the norm. If I had to guess, I'd say the manufacture has changed something. My dog still likes them. But now that they are "crumbly" I can't use them on the sports turf that my dog training club has installed for obedience and agility classes. Too bad.

Not for my pooch

My pooch eats everything including these particular treats even those she throws them up each time. I'm not sure why but it happens but I've tried a few times and they don't stay down. I love the brand but not this particular item.

My dog loved the Newman's Jerky

Was not able to purchase my dog's usual preference for jerky. She did not like people jerky so we tried the Newman's Own and she loved it. It will be our regular choice now.

Dog Loves These

He loves these treats! I think they're his favorite based on his enthusiasm whenever I reach for this bag. They smell very good, my mom was questioning if it really was for dogs lol. They are soft enough to tear into smaller pieces.

Sandie loves Newmans Own

I have a white Husky name Sandie, she loves this treat and I had never heard of it until visiting my Mom this year I saw them at a store in her neighborhood and decided to try them, Sandie loves them, when I got home I could not find them so I looked on line with Chewy and found them, thank you Chewy now Sandie gets to enjoy her favorite jerky.
